Despite the quieter pace of the Oireachtas over the summer recess, NYCI’s policy and advocacy team maintained strong momentum throughout Q3 2025, ensuring youth issues remained firmly on the political agenda. From our Buswells Lobbying Day in July to direct engagements with TDs, Senators, and senior officials, we continued to spotlight the priorities of young people and the youth work sector. With Budget 2026 looming large, NYCI kept the pressure on for our sectoral ask of €21 million and broader support for youth issues. Backed by the release of our polling modules and the Youth Work Changes Lives digital campaign, we were front and centre in pre-budget debates, Parliamentary Questions, and committee presentations, including a key session on AI and young people. As Budget 2026 decisions take shape, our advocacy remains focused, strategic, and rooted in the lived experiences of young people across Ireland.
